Liar’s Bar: Quick Rules Guide
Liar’s Bar is an exciting and thrilling multiplayer game in which bluffing and strategy lead you to victory. To play this game more effectively and want to experience more fun and thrill you have to know about the basic rules of the game. The following guide will help you to understand the basics of two main game modes: Liar’s Dice and Liar’s Deck.
Liar’s Dice
Controls (Default)
- W/S – Increase or decrease bid quantity
- A/D – Change the die face number
- E – Submit your bid
- X – Call the previous bid a lie
- Space – Peek at your dice
How to Play
Starting the Round
- Each player rolls their dice in secret under their cup.
- A random player starts the bidding.
Bidding
Players take turns to make bids. A bid predicts the total number of a specific die face (e.g., “Five Sixes” means 5 dice showing ⚅ on the table).
Each new bid must either:
- Increase the quantity (e.g., “4 Sixes” → “5 Sixes”)
- OR increase the face value (e.g., “4 Sixes” → “4 Sevens”)
- Note: (Six) is the highest face value, so after “X Sixes,” you must raise the quantity.
Calling a Lie
- Instead of bidding, you can call the previous bid a lie by pressing X.
All cups are revealed:
- If the bid is false, the bidder drinks poison.
- If the bid was true, the accuser drinks poison.
Elimination
- Drinking poison twice eliminates a player.
- The last player standing wins!
Strategy Tips
Pay attention to patterns in other players’ bids.
If you have matching dice, it’s easier to bluff confidently.
Understand probabilities:
- Example: In a 4-player game with 20 dice, having 2 sixes means there’s a high chance someone else has at least 1 more six.
Liar’s Deck
Controls
- A/D – Move between cards in your hand
- Space – Select a card
- E – Play your selected cards
- X – Call a lie
How to Play
- Game Setup:
- Deck contains:
- 6 Kings, 6 Queens, 6 Aces
- 2 Jokers (wildcards)
- Each player starts with 5 cards.
- Each round randomly selects a card type: “King’s Table,” “Queen’s Table,” or “Ace’s Table.”
- Deck contains:
- Playing Cards:
- Players must play cards matching the current type face-down (e.g., Kings for “King’s Table”).
- You can play up to 3 cards per turn.
- If you don’t have matching cards, you must lie and pretend you do.
- Calling a Lie:
- Instead of playing cards, you can call the previous player’s move a lie by pressing X.
- Reveal the played cards:
- If they lie, they fire the revolver (1 chamber).
- If they told the truth, you fired the revolver.
- Revolver Mechanic:
- The revolver has 6 chambers. If a player loses a round whether they are in the last chamber, they are eliminated.
- (Example: 5|6 shows the next round will trigger the final shot.)
- Winning the Round:
- Play all your cards without being called a liar to safely leave the round.
- If only one player remains with cards, they must be called on their final play.
Strategy Tips
Mix truth and lies wisely.
Keep track of played cards to predict opponents’ remaining hands.
Use psychology:
- Quick moves can indicate confidence, while hesitation might suggest a bluff.
- If using voice chat, you can add deception through tone and wording.
