Liar’s Bar Quick Start Game Guide
General Rules
Main Objective of The Game: Be the last one standing!
Game Flow
- The player on your left is the previous player, and the one on your right is the next player. (In a 2-player game, they are the same person.)
- Use A/D to move through your cards or dice.
- Press SPACE to check your cards or dice during non-play phases.
- Press E to play your cards (truthfully or bluffing).
- Press X to challenge the previous player if you think they’re bluffing (“Call them out!”).
Rounds
Each round ends with a challenge. Depending on the result, the loser either:
- Fires a bullet from their revolver or
- Drinks poison.
Turn Order
The play goes counter-clockwise.
The loser of the previous round always starts the next round.
Card Game Rules
Overview
- Every player has a revolver loaded with one bullet.
- The bullet is randomly positioned between shots 1-6.
- You will see other players’ bullet counters (e.g., 5/6 means a bullet will fire on the 6th turn).
Setup
- One card (Q, K, or A) is chosen as the Table Card for the round. Everyone must pretend to play this card.
- Table Card stays visible in the top-left corner of the screen as a reminder.
- Each player gets 5 cards:
- Q × 6, K × 6, A × 6
- 2 Joker cards (J), which can act as any Table Card.
Gameplay
- Play 1-3 cards on your turn. You choose how many (it doesn’t have to match the previous player).
- Previous Player’s Action: Press X to challenge them (shout “Liar!”) or play your own cards.
- If Challenged: Your all cards are revealed.
- If they are all Table Cards, the challenger takes a bullet.
- If they are not all Table Cards, the previous player takes a bullet.
Special Rule: Hell Mode
- In Hell Mode, a Devil Card replaces one Table Card.
- If a Devil Card is revealed during a challenge, everyone except the player who played it must play Russian Roulette.
Card Game Tips
- Stick to pure Table Cards or complete bluffs (avoid mixing).
- Joker cards are powerful since they can mimic the Table Card.
- Using three fake cards often deters challenges.
- Bluffing early rounds is common but risky.
- Most games wrap up within three rounds.
Dice Game Rules
Overview
- Each player starts with two poison bottles. Drink both, and you’re out.
- Everyone rolls 5 dice at the start of each round.
- Check your dice with SPACE.
Gameplay
- First Player: Calls a quantity of a specific dice number (e.g., “three 4s”).
- Next Player:
- You must either:
- Increase the quantity (e.g., “four 4s”)
- Or keep the same quantity but change the number (e.g., “three 5s”).
- You must either:
- Challenging:
- Press X if you think the previous player’s claim is false.
If Challenged:
- Dice are revealed:
- If the total dice match or exceed the claim, the challenger drinks poison.
- If the total dice are less, the player who made the claim drinks poison.
Special Rule: Exact Guess (Traditional Mode)
- In this mode, 1s are wild (they can count as any number).
- If a challenge reveals the exact count, every player except the caller drinks poison.
Dice Game Tips
- Increase pressure by targeting commonly rolled numbers like 3s, 4s, or 5s.
- In 2-player games, small bluffs can be effective.
- Always ensure your call is believable to avoid challenges.
